TRUFFLE HUNTING IN LE MARCHE REGION – Autumn
Le Marche Region there is a rich production of all major species of truffles, both white and black. The most prized is the White Truffle of Sant’Angelo in Vado (PU) (October-November) and in Acqualagna (PU) (October-November).
The Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco Pregiato (National Prized White Truffle Fair) takes place in Pergola (PU) in October. in Amandola (FM) in the first half of November.
Black Truffles can be found in Cagli (PU), Sassoferrato (AN), Arcevia (AN), in the province of Ascoli Piceno at Acquasanta Terme, Roccafluvione, Comunanza; in the province of Fermo at Montefortino, Amandola; in Camerino (MC), the Sibillini area and in Visso (MC).
There is another variety typical of the area, the Bianchetto, which is gathered in late winter.
DAY 1 – WELCOME TO LE MARCHE REGION
Private transfer from Bologna to Le Marche Region.
Your private driver will meet you at Bologna airport and you will head to Urbino, magnificent capital of the Italian Renaissance.
Check in at Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo or at other similar boutique resort.
Visit at the Ducal Palace, one of the finest buildings of the Renaissance and home of Le Marche National Gallery. The gallery has about 80 rooms with masterpieces by famous artists like Raphael, Titian and Piero della Francesca.
Dinner with local truffles and delicious wines and overnight stay.
DAY 2 – TRUFFLE HUNTING & ACQUALAGNA
After breakfast meeting with a local truffle hunter and his dog for a lovely country walk in the woods to find the precious white truffles.
Transfer to Acqualagna and lunch in a local restaurant.
Free time for the Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco (National White Truffle Fair).
Return to hotel in late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 – RETURN TRANSFER TO BOLOGNA
After breakfast, private transfer to Bologna where you will be dropped off in Bologna airport.
